Parts Washer – Paint Prep Tech

AdvantaStaff is looking to hire a Parts Washer in East Henrico starting at $15 per hour based on experience. This is a long-term temp position. This is a great entry-level opportunity for candidates with one to six months of experience in a similar position and/or in a manufacturing environment who desire a hands-on learning experience. Knowledge of the characteristics of paint is helpful.
Pay: $15 p/hr
Hours/Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Applies masking to articles.
  • Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted using solvent, sandpaper, wire brush, and scraper.
  • Sanding, grinding, spackling, taping, and cleaning parts and materials as necessary.
  • Positions articles in jigs or erects ladders and scaffolds.
  • Loads and moves materials to the work area using a manual process and overhead hoists/cranes. Transports painted articles to and from the paint booth and drying booth. Racks parts in racks and transfers finished pieces to the appropriate area (mechanical assembly).
  • Cleans spray and drying chamber, tanks, hoses, and nozzles.
  • Effectively and safely operate sanders, grinders, paint guns, and other tools.
  • Must be familiar with sanders, grinders, etc. as well as other tools and equipment used, and products used in the painting process.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Performs minor repairs as needed prior to the paint application process.
  • Cleans spraying equipment and paint booth area with solvent and replaces screens and filters.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

  • Use hands or fingers to handle or feel
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Stand and walk on a concrete surface
  • Work is performed in a loud manufacturing environment
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and Climb up to 8 feet
  • Lift, pull, and push 51 to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Workaround fumes or airborne particles, and also work with toxic and or caustic chemicals

The position has the following vision requirements:

  • Work performed in loud manufacturing environments
  • You need to be comfortable around paint fumes
