AdvantaStaff is looking to hire Plant Manager. This position is a fulltime placement. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail oriented and able to lead a team, serving as a liaison between upper management and the functions of the Richmond Operations. You must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence with a genuine interest in helping our company succeed.

Pay:
$130,000 – $150,000/yr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for Environmental, Health and Safety performance and adhering to all OSHA regulations of the plant.
  • The Operations Manager will take a strong visible leadership role to support safety and a high-performance Lean Manufacturing work culture.
  • Landlord for emergency, community response and public relations when delegated by the General Manager.
  • Demonstrates and possesses a sense of ownership and accountability for the success of the business.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing operations of production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with safety, quality, cost and OTIF specifications.
  • Working closely with sales, quality and supply chain, this role will be responsible to direct and manage the establishment and maintenance of material replenishment methods, quality standards, and KPI performance metrics in support of the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that a fair, inclusive work environment is maintained via holding the accountability of the entire workforce to firm, fair and consistent behavioral expectations.
  • Budget and manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget allowance, and lead projects in support of cost-optimization measures.
  • Ensure accurate production and financial reports are distributed on a timely basis
  • Monitor operational reports to ensure best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling and that product remains within target specifications.
  • Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program to limit work stoppages, downtime, and other disruptions.
  • Monitor organizational procedures to ensure proper functioning, prepare operational budgets, and Analyze data to inform operational decisions or activities.
  • Key operations resource and lead for all improvement projects.
  • Accountable for implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and KPI Performance management for the plant and all support departments working collaboratively with the Continuous Improvement Leader for North America.
  • Proactively solves issues independently and implements preventative measures through utilization of industry standard 5 Why methodology and RCFA. 
  • Accountable for creation and maintenance of a training and development program for all plant personnel.  Works with Safety & Quality manager to develop training materials and train personnel.
  • Provide strong leadership, training, team building, and supervision to all employees at the plant in order to support the operational function of the business.
  • Work cross-functionally with HR to recruit new employees, provide merit increases, perform disciplinary actions, and evaluate the performance of employees in order to develop talent.

Qualifications
 

  • BA or BS in operations management, business, engineering or related field
  • 5+ years plant operations management
  • Lean Manufacturing and 5S leadership knowledge and skills.  Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Inspires the organization plant personnel to apply the principles of continuous improvement, value creation and financial acumen to improve profitability of the business.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Able to provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain social relationships.
  • Build effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office products (MS Dynamics, Power BI, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, and other computer-based software and or systems.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude w/ experience in instrumentation
